Babies for Obama

This evening Jason and I are shaking with excitement to see the first Presidential Debate between Obama + McCain.

First, we needed to make sure we had sufficient snack foods to celebrate the end of the work week and cold, rainy fall day. So, we made a mini grocery list of popcorn and ingredients for homemade sugar and chocolate chip cookies.

We got Bee dressed in a hurry and realized as we were walking out the door how our daughter looked like an orphan - LOL. Her onesie had red gingham, polkadots and frogs, her Gymboree pants were pink with mushrooms, deer and gnomes, her Little MisMatched socks were pink and fluorescent green (one with stars, one with stripes), her sweater had Peter Rabbit in hot pink and a green gingham print...to top it all off - a Gymboree bunny hat to boot! Needless to say, she was being worn on Jason (also the person her dressed her - LOL) so only we knew the joke...otherwise, is the usual stopping every 10 feet by strangers marvellig at her cuteness.

Have a great weekend...
FRIDAY: baking cookies, Presidential Debate
SATURDAY: Ikea, Palisades Park
SUNDAY: chillaxin'

My MacLaren stroller...

Anyone who is anyone in the city knows that the most notable characteristics of stroller to purchase is featherweight and the ability to push/steer with one hand.
Thus...the MacLaren, THE European stroller with a new US flagship store in our very own SoHo, NYC. This one is from our registry and a very special thanks to the Godfather for the gift.

We are 'breaking her in' to the new stroller since it's the only kind (umbrella stroller) that we are allowed to leave at the daycare for drop-off. She seems to enjoy it as I push her around talking to her as I do my chores around the house. Note Milo....he's a little weirded out by it...

Mornings with Bee

It's official - I caught my first cold from the Queen Bee...
Mornings with Olivia Bee are comprised of the little lady, my MacBook playing some animated feature (most recently MONSTERS, Inc. in constant rotation), and my Special K cereal.

Poor Bee...

STATUS: 18 weeks; her first cold

Poor Bee...she has her first cold. Only +200 more to go and she will have experienced them all and built some sort of immunity to them all. Luckily I am breastfeeding so this should support the necessary antibodies to help speed up the recovery.

Overall she is still the normal, happy, giggly Bee; however, with a green, slimy runny nose, coughs, and sneezes (although, the coughing, sneezing and congestion has shown signs of letting up - [*knock on wood*]). Oh, and the poor thing's nose is raw from all the wiping of the gunk...won't be until she's about 4 when she can actually learn to blow her nose into a tissue. We have the humidifier on, dropping saline drops in her button nose to help the congestion, and stand with her in the bathroom for the steam in the shower to help with the pressure in her noggin.

Last night she woke up about four times because she couldn't breathe. I am just glad that she is sleeping through the night, still has an appetite, and does not have a fever [*knock on wood, again*]. Here's to our little girl feeling 100% sooner...I would hate for her to still be sick and/or relapse when she starts daycare in a couple of weeks (they say babies will come home sooner than later with colds in the initial few weeks of daycare - and with the weather changing....*sigh*)...

Here's a few from the past couple of days...

YOU CAN SLIGHTLY SEE THE CRUSTIES I'VE BEEN WIPING AWAY...

THIS IS 'THE LOOK'....RIGHT WHEN YOU CAN TELL HER MOOD IS ABOUT TO CHANGE FOR THE WORSE, IT'S LIKE A WARNING THAT YOU BETTER DO SOMETHING QUICK OR I'M ABOUT TO WAIL BLOODY MURDER...

OH GOOD....MOM CAUGHT THE WARNING AND GOT BEE SMILING AGAIN - THAT'S THE BEE WE KNOW AND LOVE!!!....

THIS IS THE TIRED/SICK LOOK WHEN SHE STARES OFF INTO SPACE...

Fall is in the air...

STATUS: 17 weeks old

...and we must dress Olivia Bee accordingly.
We went to our usual Saturday morning flea market with our dear friends KC + Aaron. It's always a treat to see them - always reminds us that we would like to see them and head over to Brooklyn more often than not.

Anyway, here she is in her kindergarten clothes!

Afterwards we walked around the mall and I inventoried what I will need to start work. I don't want to spend too much since I anticipate a continuous, steady weight loss (they say 9 months on, 9 months off)...so I am a size 4/6...and have a bunch of size 0s. So, currently making a list of reasonable basics to get me through the next 5 months! Wooooo!

OK....and here's a few more pics cause she's so freakin' cute and you can tell she's not quite used to all the layers she's wearing! LOL

Olivia, my dear, music makes the world go 'round...

She loves music.
She's even captivated by songs I used to sing while she was in the womb...she gets a look in her eye as if she recalls it. So amazing.

Currently the soundtrack of her life includes:

STILL FIGHTING IT - Ben Folds
Track 1 + 2 (sorry don't know the title) - Lullaby Baxter (Album: Garden Cities of Tomorrow)
WANDA, LONGTIME SUNSHINE - Rivers Cuomo
I ALWAYS KNEW, BESSA - Tilly + the Wall
VALLEY WINTER SONG - Fountains of Wayne
SILVER LINING - Rilo Kiley
I AM ONLY A WOMAN - Jenny Lewis
EACH NEW DAY - Rose Melberg
Kimya Dawson (Album: Remember That I Love You)
...and most CHICAGO hits...

Today we also picked up Kimya Dawson's new children's album ALPHABUTT. I just put it in my iTunes (will have to wait to put it on Bee's iPod til I get to work)...but I am sure come on Monday she will love it during our adopted sing-along time.

Oh yea...is anyone else as excited about Jenny Lewis' ACID TONGUE release as I am?
